The Weather Map

Produced in 1950 by ‘His Majesty’s Stationary Office’ and available for the princely sum of 3s 6d this booklet is effectively a re-print of a booklet first issued in 1915 ‘in response to a demand for knowledge of the construction and use of weather maps which arose during the war’.

I have assigned it to my aesthetic archive as I admire the authority with which this booklet presents itself, alongside the choice of fonts, and many reference codes throughout. The idea of this booklet being produced by the AIR MINISTRY, METEOROLOGICAL OFFICE is very appealing, and of course official.
