Illustrations of the British Flora

I found this in a secondhand shop, and I am not particularly green-fingered but I really loved the illustrations (taken from wood carvings).  From the inside cover:

“Illustrations of the British Flora is a companion volume to Bentham’s Handbook of the British Flora first published in 1858. The majority of the illustrations contained ion this volume were drawn by W. H. Fitch and appeared in the original illustrated edition of Bentham’s work in 1865. Additional drawings by W. G. Smith and others have been incorporated so that the arrangement in this, the 5th edition, follows that of the 7th edition, which is also being reissued.

Both volumes were originally designed to help the amateur or beginner to discover and study the botanical wealth of the British Isles. They have now become standard works of reference. Illustrations of the British Flora contains 1322 wood engravings.”
