Old Town

I think that amongst the world of work/utility wear, Old Town are probably one of the longest running and most well-known companies operating at the moment. Old Town operate from Norfolk, and have their  own factory from which they produce a relatively modest 50 garments per week. Working from old patterns, and with British fabric producers, Old Town work by producing each garment to order, so lead times are typically around 4 weeks. In addition to this, a recent addition to the canon is the ‘Old Town Evening Star’, which is a sort of newspaper highlighting issues such as fabric developments, social developments, and general British quirkisms.
