Billy Childish

March 8, 2011

Not a lot to say really, apart from the fact that I find Childish inspirational in so many aspects. I may not agree fully with 100% of his ideals, but I certainly have to admire a man living life as he wants, with little or no compromise to the modern world.

“Workwear / Heritage” before it even became a thought in Topshop’s mind…

Style Icon: John Wilson

July 9, 2010

John Wilson is basically a fisherman. He has recorded various angling programmes for the last 20 years, and also has the honour of being voted ‘The Greatest Angler of all Time’ in 2004 by The Angling Times magazine. To top this, he was also awarded an MBE IN 2009.

Aside from all of this, just look at the garments this man wears! What a fantastic mix of explorer, angler, hunter, gather – it’s all in there. I love this guy. The photographs below are a little ‘fish heavy’, but you get the idea.

Claude Jeremiah Greengrass

June 15, 2010

Most people will know Bill Maynard better as the loveable rogue “Greengrass” from long-running  popular drama ‘Heartbeat’. It is that particular character that I feel is blog worthy – a true style genius.

Rico Daniels: The Salvager

June 10, 2010

Rico Daniels is The Salvager, presenting a show of the same name, of which there have presently been two series. The second series took place in France, for which Rico became “Le Salvager”. The basic premise is that old / broken furniture and elements are taken, and transformed by Rico into something completely new. The beauty of the show is Rico’s ability to see something in absolutely anything (in one episode he turned a scrapped car into a chaise long…). If you ever stumble across one of his shows, give it a chance – your life will be changed!

Aside from that, Rico has one of the grandest moustaches that I’ve ever seen, and he dresses like a king.
